I have been making radio for nearly a decade, and in some pretty interesting places: from my first job in HMP Brixton, working for National Prison Radio, to BBC documentaries in the back of a firetruck in Lusaka, Zambia.

I currently work as a producer for the Guardian’s daily news podcast, Today in Focus. The many, many episodes I have made there can be found here.

Among my favourites are this piece on Turkey’s Gezi Trials, this episode marking the twentieth anniversary of September 11th, and this mini-series on the Post Office Scandal.

I have also produced several radio programmes for BBC Radio 4 and the BBC World Service. They include this Archive on 4 about the Nigerian-Biafran war, this two-part exploration into the history and future of African space programmes, and this hour-long music documentary into Sweet Mother, the most successful African song of all time. For one fun year, I worked for Radio 4’s Today Programme as well.

Occasionally, editors are foolish enough to allow me in front of the microphone , such as this appearance on From Our Own Correspondent about Istanbul during the pandemic, or this dispatch for The Today Programme about a school for Uyghur children on the city’s outskirts.

I have been lucky enough, across that time, to be in teams that have won substantial prizes in the audio industry, such as The Prison Radio Association’s 2017 ‘Indie of the Year’, and Today in Focus receiving ‘Best News and Current Affairs Podcast’ at the British Podcast Awards in 2023.
